About Robyn Opie Parnell

Robyn lives in Adelaide, South Australia, with her writer husband Rob Parnell, her dog Spock and thousands of children's books. She works full time writing for children.

Robyn wrote her first children's book while at high school. It was a mystery similar to the Nancy Drew series. When Robyn was a child,
she wished she could be Nancy Drew because the teenage sleuth was always involved in an exciting adventure.

Robyn has always loved writing and reading. She writes children's books for pleasure. Her other interests include watching Aussie Rules Football. Her favourite team is the Adelaide Crows. Go Crows! She also enjoys listening to music, playing pool, watching movies, seeing friends, swimming and exercising.

Robyn's Home:
Adelaide, South Australia.

Robyn's Pets: Spock, a Kelpie X.

Robyn's Favourite Colour: Blue.

Robyn's Favourite Food: Chocolate (or should I say vegetables)
Chocolate is my favourite type of cake, ice cream, milkshake etc.

Robyn's Favourite Drink: Filtered water (Boring!)

Robyn's Favourite Place: I like the beach. I love the sound of waves crashing onto the sand. I also like the hills and being surrounded by lots of trees. Adelaide has everything. It's a great place to live.

Robyn's Favourite Thing to Do: Write Children's Books. I also love to read children's books.

Robyn's Favourite Sport: Aussie Rules Football and my favourite
team is the Adelaide Crows. Go Crows! I don't play aussie rules but I love to watch.

Robyn's Favourite Movie: Pirates of the Caribbean.

Robyn's Favourite Actor: Johnny Depp (especially as a pirate)

Robyn's Favourite TV Show: Leverage

Robyn's Favourite Singer: Australian Idol star, Anthony Callea.

Robyn's Favourite Author: I can't say. I know too many authors
and I don't want to upset anyone.

Robyn's Favourite Book (own): Maya and the Crystal Skull published by R&R Books in 2011. And Black Baron published by Walker Books Australia in 2008 and Walker Books UK in 2009.

Robyn's Favourite Character (own): Maya and Black Baron, a champion racing cockroach.

Robyn's Best Moment: I've had so many. I love life and every
day is wonderful. My best moment, though, was marrying my wonderful husband Rob.

Robyn's Worst Moment: When my dog, Tonto, died in my arms.

Robyn's Most Embarrassing Moment: My dad taught me to ride a bike. The first time I rode by myself I went tearing out of the driveway and straight into the bummer of a car.

Robyn's Naughtiest Moment: I got glasses when I was five. I never
wore them because, as soon as I got home, I buried them out the front of my house. (The glasses are probably still there.)
